Family Engagement Summit for staff, parents and community partners on Friday at the Martin Center.

Debbie Booker - Principal at The Cohn School
Greetings from The Cohn School!!

I am Debbie Booker, the Executive Principal at The Cohn School where “learning lifts you higher.” Students who enter our non-traditional school are able to earn credits that they are missing for graduation requirements. Our faculty and staff are dedicated and committed to serving each student in their academic, socio-emotional and post-secondary endeavors. Students are transitioned to one of our Academy Schools or to Bass Adult once they have received the required credits. They will then matriculate through those schools to earn their high school diploma. Since the inception of this school in 2012, it has been my pleasure to serve the students and help elevate them to new heights. Thank you and welcome to The Cohn School, where students can “Believe, Achieve, Belong!”

Important News

During the month of September, we are holding our annual Food Drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.  The advisory classes are competing this year to see which class can bring in the most food.  The class that brings in the most food wins a pizza party! Community members are also invited to participate since this food benefits Second Harvest Food Bank.  The items needed are: canned or dried beans, peanut butter, canned fruit, canned meat or tuna, cereal, boxed or bagged rice, canned vegetables, and macaroni and cheese.

Tutoring starts this week.  If you want to find out all the dates for tutoring then check out our calendar.  Parents, if you students are staying for tutoring, please make sure that they have a way to get home since tutoring gets out at 4:15pm.

Open House was a great success! We were so happy to see all of the parents that made it out to visit the school. We also held a raffle and Savannah won the raffle which had a prize of an iPad mini! Congratulations, Savannah!

Our Mission: To link students to the social/emotional and academic skills and knowledge necessary for high school graduation, entry and completion of postsecondary education, stability and competence in their career and workforce opportunities, and an appreciation for a fulfilled and wholesome life.
